2013 Annual Event Summary

AIMBE’s Annual Event is our premiere conference during which the top leaders in medical and biological engineering across all arenas—academic, industry, government—gather for three days of cutting edge programming, spectacular social events, and a chance to welcome the newest AIMBE Fellows. Conference highlights included a spectacular banquet hosted by AIMBE leadership with a special tribute to Wallace Coulter. See highlights including the President’s Panel featuring the rare gathering of three university presidents.

A Call to Action – Sustaining America’s Leadership in Life Sciences

This white paper was developed from the panel discussion (video below) entitled “The Biotechnology Agenda for the Next 365 Days” from AIMBE’s Annual Event in February 2013 in Washington, DC. It includes a detailed “Call to Action” for five initiatives: Regulatory, Reimbursement Reform, Federal Funding for Life Sciences, Workplace Development in STEM, and Private Funding/Tax Reform.
