AIMBE's membership is unique in that it is comprised of individuals, industries,
academic institutions and technical societies. Although each aspect of AIMBE's
membership has different functions and goals, the College and Councils unite
in their vision of sustaining the growth and viability of the bioengineering
discipline.
Membership in AIMBE consists of the following sections:
The College of Fellows
consists of 1,000 individuals who are the outstanding
bioengineers in academia, industry and government.
The Academic Council
is comprised of universities and colleges with educational programs in bioengineering
at the graduate or undergraduate level.
The Council of
Societies is AIMBE's mechanism for coordinating interaction among 18
scientific organizations in medical and biological engineering.
The Industry Council
- A forum for dialog between industry, academia and government in order
to identify and act on common interests that will advance the field of medical
and biological engineering and contribute to public health and welfare.
