He is also a past recipient of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation’s (AAMI) 2016 Healthcare Technology Management Leadership Award, the American College of Clinical Engineering’s (ACCE) 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award, and the joint industry American College of Clinical Engineering & Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society 2010 Excellence in CE-IT Synergies Award and two ACCE professional advocacy/achievement awards (2003 and 2005).
In addition to being a fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (Class of 2008), he is a fellow of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (Class of 2007), the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (Class of 2019), and the American College of Clinical Engineering (Class of 2002) where he is also a past president.
Induction into the Clinical Engineering Hall of Fame is reserved for individuals who have been recognized as having made outstanding and notable contributions to the initiation, evolution and/or advancement of clinical engineering. These contributions have been judged to have the impact, influence, innovation and/or reach that will, as best can be determined, stand the test of time.
AAMI recognizes fellows for the depth and breadth of their accomplishments in seven core areas: professional experience, education, technical contributions, presentations and publications, professional participation, certification, and awards and honors.
Fellow status is given to members in recognition of outstanding service, contributions, and leadership to AAMI and the health technology community. AAM Fellows influence health technology through impactful and sustained professional participation and thought leadership. AAMI Fellows demonstrate a commitment to ensuring a strong future for the field and fulfillment of AAMI’s mission to lead global collaboration in the development, management, and use of safe and effective health technology.
