Woodard Elected to National Academy of Medicine

Pamela K. Woodard, MD, director of WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR), was elected to the National Academy of Medicine. One of the highest honors in medicine, membership in the Academy recognizes outstanding professional achievement.

Woodard is a renowned physician-scientist, having made significant advancements in translating cardiac imaging techniques into humans. These accomplishments include translating a technique that reduces motion artifact, which are image disturbances that can occur in MRI scans when the patient breathes. WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) has announced the election of Pamela K. Woodard, MD, Hugh Monroe Wilson Professor of Radiology, Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University School of Medicine to its College of Fellows. Dr. Woodard was nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the AIMBE College of Fellows for outstanding contributions to medical imaging and translational research.

The College of Fellows is comprised of the top two percent of medical and biological engineers in the country. The most accomplished and distinguished engineering and medical school chairs, research directors, professors, innovators, and successful entrepreneurs comprise the College of Fellows.
