St. Peter women are celebrating women this month, paying special attention to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields during an annual event meant to laud the achievements of women in the community for their leadership and contributions to society — locally, statewide and in some cases nationally.

This year’s Women Celebrating Women celebration will be held at 5:30 p.m. March 19 at the Jackson Campus Center at Gustavus Adolphus College.

In its 10th year, this year’s theme is Women Inspiring Innovation through Imagination, and will be devoted to generations of American women who have used their intelligence, imagination, sense of wonder, and tenacity to make extraordinary contributions to the STEM fields.

One of those woman is keynote speaker Rebecca Bergman, Vice President of Research and Technology and Cardiac Rhythm and Disease Management at Medtronic, Inc. and a trustee at Gustavus Adolphus College.

The NAE now has 2,267 peer-elected members in the United States and an additional 196 foreign associates. They provide the leadership and expertise for numerous projects focused on relationships between engineering, technology and quality of life.
