Fellows,

We are excited to invite you to the first AIMBE regional event taking place on June 3, 2024, in Boston. The event is being hosted in conjunction with Boston University and will take place on their campus.

Between 3 - 4:30 p.m., selected AIMBE Fellows from BU, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, and Tufts will provide hands-on medtech demos of their federally-funded work to congressional district staff as well as Massachusetts state legislature representatives. Following the demos, we invite you to join us for a Fellow networking reception from 4:30 - 6 p.m. with drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

You are welcome to attend either the demo session, reception, or both. This will be an unmatched opportunity to help your district policy makers learn more about the impactful research conducted by their constituents and also network with your Boston and surrounding area AIMBE Fellows.

This event features life sciences research funded by NIH and NSF, with over a dozen exhibitors. AIMBE has selected the following exhibitors:

AIMBE Fellow Dr. Walter Block will demonstrate his work on surgical devices for accelerating magnetic resonance image-guided brain surgery using SBIR funding to Congress.

AIMBE Fellow Dr. Stephanie Fraley, UCSD will demonstrate her work on rapid testing and identification of infectious diseases to Congress.

2023 and 2024 AIMBE Fellows Networking Webinar

AIMBE will host a virtual networking webinar on Thursday, June 13, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m ET, for a 1-hour networking session for 2023 and 2024 AIMBE Fellows.

Dr. Dawn Beraud and Sarah Mandell will begin the session with AIMBE updates on current and future advocacy activities, as well as opportunities to get involved with AIMBE. Subsequently, Fellows will move into small group breakout rooms to connect with one another firsthand.
